End of Year Greetings!

Dear Parents,

I know I say this every year, but I’ll say it again- where did the year go to?!? It is hard to believe that another busy year has come to an end and the Summer Holidays are here already. I want to start by wishing all the families in our school a happy and safe Summer.

It has been a very busy school-year for us and a very active one for your children. Yesterday was a very special day for us, when our 6th class children held their graduation ceremony. It was an emotional day, where we celebrated all that is good about our school. We wish our graduating class the very best as they leave our school and head off to post-primary!

I want to thank the staff of the school of the school for their commitment, hard work and dedication to the children in their care. All of the staff contribute to making the school a happy, vibrant and inspiring place. We very much appreciate your work!

A big thank you to all the parents

As a staff, we are so grateful to all the parents for their support during the school year. This makes our work so much easier and contributes greatly to the sense of partnership and shared ownership of the school. We hope that this continues next year. I am particularly grateful to the Parents Association for their help and practical support throughout the year. .

Class Lists for 2017/18 School-year

I have attached the class-list for the 2017/18 school year. As you will see, a number of classes have not yet been allocated a teacher. As soon as the recruitment process has been completed, I will inform parents of the name of their child’s teacher.

Please keep us informed!

As you know, there are waiting lists for places in each of the classes. So, we would appreciate it if parents could inform us if they intend to move over the Summer, or if their children will not be in school next year. This will enable other children to get a place in the school. Let us know by phone, leaving a message on the answering machine, writing to us or sending an e-mail to info@hopens.ie over the Summer.

And finally . . . . . .

I would like to finish by thanking the most important people in the whole school –our pupils! Without your hard work, co-operation and enthusiasm as well as your exemplary behaviour and warm smiles, this school would not be the happy place that it is.

It only remains for me now, on behalf of Fr. George, the Board of Management and the staff of the school, to wish you all a very happy and safe Summer. Take good care of yourselves and your children, have a lovely break, enjoy the Summer holidays, and we’ll see you all back on Wednesday the 30th August!

Yours sincerely,

Enda McGorman
