Kerri Behan RIP

The entire school community has been shocked and saddened at the death of our beloved Kerri Behan, who passed away yesterday morning.

She was just 10 years old.

She died after a long and courageous battle with leukaemia.

Kerri was a beautiful child, with a winning smile. She was strong, positive and brave, right to the end.

She brought such joy and light, not only to the school, but to everyone who knew her.

We remember with particular fondness the joy and hope in our school last Summer, when we celebrated Kerri’s Krazy Hat day- and no-one enjoyed the occasion and the colour of the day more than Kerri!

Our school community is numb with grief at Kerri’s passing.

At the 10:30 Mass in Littlepace this morning, Mr. McGorman started the Mass with a tribute to Kerri, and Fr. George dedicated the Mass to her memory.

Tomorrow, the pupils of the Senior School will go to the church in Littlepace at 11am, to hold a special service of remembrance for Kerri.

Tomorrow’s Swimming Lessons will be cancelled as a mark of respect for Kerri.

Kerri’s remains will be buried on Tuesday morning, after Mass, which will be celebrated in St. Peter’s Church, Dunboyne.

Full details are on RIP.ie.

Tomorrow morning, we will open a Book of Condolence in the Senior school Reception area, where parents and pupils can leave a tribute to Kerri. It will remain open for the next two days.

The Parent’s Association will provide refreshments in the Senior School hall for Parents from drop-off.

We will keep parents posted in relation to how the school will remember Kerri on the school website.

We ask for your prayers for Kerri’s family and friends; her mother Anita, her father Paul and her little sister Emma.

Solas na bhFlaitheas ar a hanam uasal

May her good and gentle soul rest in peace.
