Congratulations to Conor O’Donohoe from Ms. Clerkin’s Third Class who recently won the Irish Open International Diving Championship in the National Aquatics Centre.
There was stiff competition from Ireland, Dubai, Mexico and the U.S.
Conor had to complete a total of TWELVE dives in the course of the competition. According to Conor, ‘The most difficult dive was the ‘Back Fall Straight Dish’, where I was 3m over the water and had to dive backwards!’
Conor trains up to three times per week throughout the year, but this can increase to daily training in the run up to competitions. He trains with his club, Shamrock Diving, in the National Aquatic Centre.
Congratulations Conor, we are all very proud of you- we are sure that you have a fantastic Diving Career ahead of you!!
