Final Notice for 6th Class Tour to Carlingford

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian,

We are just one day away from our trip to Carlingford Adventure Centre, and the excitement is building all over the school!

Early Departure: The children must be in school at 7.15am tomorrow morning. We will assemble in the 5th/6th class yard beside the All-Weather pitch in front of the school’s main entrance.

Late Arrival Back at School: We depart Carlingford at 8.00pm and will be back in the school around 9.30 pm. We will send a notification on Aladdin on Thursday evening with a precise time of arrival back in school. Please let your child know in advance if you are going to be in the shcool to collect them tomorrow evening, or if they need to walk home from school.

Bring Plenty of Drinks and Snacks: Children are advised to bring at least two drinks with them for the trip.

As they will not be eating until mid-day in Carlingford, they should also have a number of small snacks with them which they can eat throughout the day.

Late Start to School on Friday morning: Because the day is so long, we are giving pupils an extra lie-in on Friday morning. Children can come in to school at 11am on Friday morning, and will be marked present for the entire school day. We would ask everyone to co-operate with us in this regard.

Later on Friday, Jack Chambers, Minister for Sport, will meet with the 6th class children- so we hope they are bright and alert by then!!

No Mobile Phones: As this is a day tour, there is no necessity for children to bring their mobile phones. The school mobile phone policy will apply. Children are not allowed mobile phones in school.

Spending Money: Children are allowed bring a maximum of €10 for spending money. However this is not necessary as all meals are provided and there may be only be limited opportunities to spend money on the day.

Items of Clothing Needed:

We want to make sure that the childrens' tracksuits are clean for Friday, so they should wear their own clothing to Carlingofrd, and have a change of clothes, in case they get wet.

Remember, the children need to obring an old pair of spare runners to wear while they are doing their water activities!

Further details are on the checklist below which sets out clearly what children should bring.

Suncream: Tomorrow promises to be a sunny day, so please make sure to put suncream on the children before they leave home, and give them suncream for the trip as well.

We hope that all the children have a fun and exciting adventure in Carlingford and that they will have many happy memories of their last trip as pupils in Mary, Mother of Hope SNS.

Thank you,

Ms. Leech, Mr. Curtin, Ms. Clerkin and Mr. Nolan.
