A number of months ago, the Department of Education and Skills announced an awards scheme to encourage the development of exemplary practice in the use of Information Technology in schools.
The Department invited schools to work in clusters of schools and develop a three year plan of work.
The Department received 216 separate applications for inclusion in the scheme. Only 35 applications were recognised as reaching the required standard.
We are delighted that the Senior School was one of those schools.
The four schools in the cluster will share a total of €30,000 between them to support the project over its three year term.
I am delighted that this offers a new and exciting opportunity for the school to develop its expertise in IT.
I would like to congratulate the members of the school’s IT committee, particularly Ms. McGrath, for their work in drawing this proposal together.
We look forward to this project flourishing in the years to come!
