Congratulations on your retirement Ms. Fitzpatrick!

As we said goodbye to each other on the 30th June 2026 for our Summer holidays, we also said one final sad farewell to Áine Fitzpatrick, our fantastic Principal.

We have had a poignant week of many farewell events for Ms. Fitzpatrick in the school over the last couple of days - surprise songs, a 'Day in the Life of Ms. Fitzpatrick Skit' with a crew of amazing young actors, a box of memories, visits from many well-wishers including Mr. McGorman and previous staff and past pupils, 'Advice on your Retirement' written by the pupils, heartfelt speeches, one final Graduation and one final walk to school with a wonderful guard of honour provided by the pupils, staff and parents.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Áine for her commitment and dedication to the pupils of Mary, Mother of Hope over the last 21 years. She has worked tirelessly to foster a happy, safe and learning environment for each and every child in our school. The pupils and their wellbeing were always central to her decision making and we are grateful for her leadership and the incredible legacy that she leaves behind. It was my absolute privilege to have worked alongside Áine over the past 21 years and we will all miss her greatly. As she steps into a well-deserved retirement, our greatest tribute to her will be carrying on the torch she has lit - I can assure you that we will keep her vision, passion, values and high standards alive as we start another school year in September.

We wish Áine a happy and healthy road ahead as she embarks on her new journey.
