Dear Parents,
Our children continue with their preparations for Confirmation, and the coming weeks will be busy for them.
The parish team are also heavily involved in these preparations and have asked me to bring the following dates to your attention:
Meeting for parents: A meeting for all parents/guardians of 6th class children preparing for confirmation will be held in Huntstown church on Thursday 27th February at 7.30pm. This event is only for parents but if they can’t find a childminder, please request them to bring the children along.
Tour of the church for 6th class confirmation children on Saturday 29th February at 11 am in Huntstown
Confessions for pupils: Confirmation candidates will receive the sacrament of reconciliation (confessions) in the church in Littlepace on Thursday the 5th March at 1pm, during the school day. Parents do not need to attend this service!
Ceremony of Light:
The parents and children preparing for Confirmation are invited to our Ceremony of Light on Thursday the 19th March at 7:00 pm in our local church here in Littlepace.
This is a special service in preparation for Confirmation with a focus on light and passing on the faith from parents to children. Ahead of all the busy preparations for confirmation day, this ceremony provides a time for parents and their children to reflect on their faith in a quiet and calm way. As there is limited capacity in the church, only parents and confirmation candidates can be accommodated. Children should wear their full school uniform on the evening.
Confirmation Day
Confirmation takes place in the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Huntstown, at 11 o’clock on Saturday the 28th March.
