At our school, student voice and leadership are at the heart of everything we do. This year, we are incredibly proud of our Digital Learning Leaders, Dara and Zach, who have shown outstanding commitment, responsibility and enthusiasm as members of the Digital Learning Committee.
Being part of a school committee is not just about technology – it’s about teamwork, communication and making a positive difference for others. We wanted to take the opportunity to hear directly from Dara and Zach about their experiences, their proudest moments, and what they’ve learned along the way.
What would you say to anyone who wants to join a school committee?
Zach: “I would say go for it if it is something you really want to do.”
Dara: “I would say it is fun so you should do it. But also be prepared to work hard.”
What is your proudest moment as a Digital Learning Leader?
Zach: “My proudest moment was teaching other students how to use Micro:bits during the school STEM Week.”
Dara: “Mine was getting all of the iPads sorted, labelled and handed out to classes.”
What skills are important for being part of a school committee?
Zach: “Good communication, teamwork and being able to assess and solve a problem.”
Dara: “Communication is important and learning to work efficiently.”
Dara and Zach have been wonderful role models for their peers, showing initiative, reliability and a genuine passion for digital learning. Their contributions have had a real impact across the school, from supporting teachers and students to ensuring our technology is organised and used effectively.
We are extremely proud of both of them and grateful for the leadership, positivity and effort they bring to our school community.
Well done, Dara and Zach – we can’t wait to see what you do next!
