A Farewell to Jim!

It was the end of an era today on the campus of Mary, Mother of Hope school when we said farewell to Jim McGarry, the caretaker of Castaheany Community Centre.

It’s hard to believe that Jim has been a member of the school community here since 2006!

He was everyone’s go-to-man in relation to the community centre, whether assistance with bookings or scheduling, setting up meeting rooms, helping visitors and clients alike. He was an invaluable support to Seanna and all of us in Mary, Mother of Hope schools keeping our campus safe and secure. Jim met everyone with a warm smile, and nothing was too much trouble for him.

We will miss Jim’s good humour and gentle nature on our campus- not to mention his soft Scottish lilt!! This afternoon myself and Ms. Moran made a small presentation to Jim, to express our gratitude for his long service and tireless work for our community. We can only wish Jim and his wife Cathy, every happiness and good health in their retirement years.

Ge n-éirí leat Jim!!
