An exciting visit from Manna!

In sixth class we were lucky enough to have the drone company ‘manna’ come in to talk to us about their company and how they deliver the food in under 3 minutes!

They have two companies in different countries one, as we know, is in Ireland and the other is in Finland.

The one in Finland is more of a testing site though, to see if they can fly in intense weather conditions such as heavy snow. All of manna’s drones are are resistant to rain so they can still deliver regularly in Ireland where heavy rain is a natural occurrence.

Some of the questions 6th Class posed to Manna included:

Is Manna named after the bread in the holy bible? Yes

Can you ride the drones? No

Do they make all of their own drones ? Yes

Do things ever spill? Yes, usually human error or the Burger King lids

How far is the radius of which it can be delivered? 3km from Blanchardstown.

They told us they weren’t allowed fly over schools or hospitals for fear of disruption. They are trying to get a licence to fly at higher altitudes.

After they answered all the questions they brought us outside for a demonstration. Two drones came carrying 4 bags of Haribo jellies and Cadburys chocolate for the sixth-class students and teachers. We all said thank you and they left. I think we all enjoyed their presentation and will be ordering in future! Check out the video!
