Congratulations and well done to all our 5th and 6th class pupils who completed their ‘final mile’ today, with Marathon Kids Ireland, in Morton Stadium, Santry.
It was fabulous day. The weather was beautiful and warm as the children in 5th and 6th classes completed their final run.
Over the last eight weeks, our 5th and 6th class pupils have been working hard towards today. They have completed four running sessions weekly to culminate running a full marathon (26.2 miles), as well as learning about the benefits of sport and a healthy lifestyle.
Today’s finale, ‘the final mile’ in Morton Stadium was a wonderful celebration of a fantastic achievement, for all the children in 5th and 6th class.
Thank you to Ms Greene, our Sports Coordinator and the 5th and 6th class teachers and staff who helped the children reach this momentous goal in the last eight weeks.
Well done boys and girls, you have run a Marathon!
