World Book Day 2025

At Mary Mother of Hope S.N.S., we understand the importance of reading and its role in shaping young minds. Reading not only enhances literacy skills but also encourages creativity, empathy, and critical thinking. We strive to foster a love of reading in every student, knowing that it’s the foundation for lifelong learning and growth.

World Book Day was a perfect reminder of how reading opens doors to new worlds and ideas. We are proud of how our school community came together to celebrate this important day and look forward to many more opportunities to inspire a love for books in the years to come!

A huge thanks to Ms. Galligan, who organised a host of exciting events for our students. One of the highlights was the teacher swap, where teachers swapped classes and read their own favourite book to students—such a lovely way to share the joy of reading! The World Book Day Padlet, also provided by Ms. Galligan, was a fantastic resource, offering fun activities and allowing students to share and discuss what their favourite books mean to them. Students are currently working on the school Bookmark competition and we will let you know the winners next week!

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this year’s World Book Day a wonderful celebration of reading! Stay tuned for some photos!
