Voice of Student: Report from the 6th Class Bake Sale!
Written by Jewel Sijo Ms McGrath 6th Class: Two weeks ago, on Friday the 17th of April, all of the 6th classes in our school, worked tirelessly on our Cake Sale. There was a fantastic array of treats, such as brownies, cookies, biscuits and cakes and much, much more. There was a penalty shoot out and other fair ground games and lots of prizes were won. Drumming Workshops for students
A big thank you to Neil from Drum Nature for facilitating drumming workshops for our students. Drumming is a great way to relax, to have fun and to connect with others. The aim of Drum Nature is to use rhythm-based events to bring people together and to create a positive outlet for creativity, energy and self-expression. We all had great fun! Thanks to Ms. Oakes for organising this event!


A special visit from a famous author!
We were delighted to welcome the award-winning Irish author Marita Conlon-McKenna to the school on Tuesday, the 28th April. Marita met with the 5th class boys and girls, who have all read her first novel, Under the Hawthorn Tree. The book is a favourite with both teachers and pupils, bringing the harsh realities of the Famine to life through the eyes of children. She spoke about what inspired her to write the story, as well as the research involved and her approach to writing


Happy Intercultural Week!
It’s time for one of our favourite weeks in Mary Mother of Hope! We have so much in store, including parent visits, intercultural games and songs, and our “Show Your Colours to the World” assembly on Friday Check back during the week to see photos from all the fantastic events!

Bookmark Competition Winners!
A huge congratulations to the winners of our bookmark competition! Ms. Galligan and her team had a very difficult time choosing, such was the high standard of entries. National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day March 25th!
National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day is observed annually on March 25 th to promote inclusion, education, and research for the over 17 million people worldwide with CP . Please wear green tomorrow (March 25th) to show your support!


Closure Reminder!
The school will be closed on Monday, March 16th and Tuesday, March 17th. We will see everyone back at school on Wednesday, March 18th!


Seachtain na Gaeilge
We had a fantastic celebration in the hall for Seachtain na Gaeilge! The hall was full of music, dancing and great fun as every class got involved. There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day. It was fantastic to hear so much Irish being spoken, sung and celebrated by everyone.
